Welcome to the Rowes Precinct

The Rowe Buildings in Russell Street have an interesting history.

Josiah Rowe started retailing in Toowoomba in 1892, and the Rowe family, headed by great-grandson & chairman John Rowe, still trade here today. Treg Rowe, who was Josiah’s grandson and John’s father, started acquiring the 7 Buildings and 12 titles from about 1955. Treg passed away in 2017 and the family decided to redevelop the property. John commissioned Wade Eiser from Aspect Architects, and Northbuild to redevelop the site.

The family spared no expense in delivering our goal of having a professional, and community centred development with lots of shared spaces and common areas - all have been designed with productivity in mind. Sustainability was a big focus in the development with plenty of recycled material being used, large underground rainwater storage and an impressive 4 KW’s of solar per tenancy.

The tenancies created on the 1st and 2nd floors (originally used for retail) vary from 60 to 200m². There are plans for one Tenancy O to be subdivided into four ~30m² spaces for smaller businesses or start-ups. Shared meeting rooms, an internal & external kitchen breakout area, and a boardroom are also features. The meeting & board rooms can be booked through our onsite staff.

We believe the precinct is a beautiful place to work from and it’s our vision to see it filled with a range of tenants who value community and beautiful spaces.
